Happy 12th Birthday Ryan

Although, Ryan did not get to wake up to a snow day or delayed opening as he was hoping for. With only an 1inch of snow, Ryan was up and off to school this morning but not before opening a few birthday gifts and a special breakfast. We have had/have lots of celebrations planned for this 12th year old—- who asked for Jersey Mike’s for his birthday dinner tonight after practice and a hibachi party with his friends on Saturday.

As we celebrate #12 today, Ryan is becoming less of a little boy and more of a young man with a great sense of style but thankfully still a little “soft” and gives the best hugs and snuggles!

Ryan has a great sense of humor with a little bit of sarcasm ( like his mama), a very kind heart and life seems to always go in Ryan’s favor, often with very little effort on his part— he just puts his mind towards something and it gets done!  Whether it is making the baseball all star team, getting an A on a test or saying I want to skate and just taking to the ice for the first time and successfully skating all around—whatever Ryan puts his mind too, he normally accomplishes.  He is very smart and loves to read, very athletic and has won state championships, league playoffs and Super Bowl across all sports throughout his youth sports career and has master being able to keep up with his big brother, Thomas even if he has to fake it until he makes it at times.  But don’t let his competitive nature fool you, Ryan is the ultimate snuggle buddy, as he loves being comfy and snuggling up to Lucy or anyone on the couch with a blanket and if he could… would wear head to toe fleece any day of the week! And as a true competitor, Ryan not only puts a lot of pressure on himself, but also his teammates and those around him ( including family)! He has always been someone who is hard to impress- whether it’s meals made by me or a top restaurant, expectations of friends, teachers, coaches and teammates — he is selective with his choices and aims high with expectations! Ryan is my “go to person” whenever I want an honest opinion- whether it be on an outfit I am thinking of wearing, a new recipe or his thoughts on a situation with work, school or a social situation— Ryan doesn’t hold back and will give it to me straight! I can only hope this carries through with him in life. Ryan has always been super active and enjoys fitness and a healthy lifestyle— showing great restrain even with sweets or his favorite snacks. If he doesn’t have a practice or game, you can find him working out in the basement, begging us to take him to a field or outside shooting hoops regardless of temperature. He has a high threshold for pain and isn’t a complainer when it comes to being sick or with an injury— he wants to play and be on the field or court and is truly someone I absolutely love to watch.

Ryan completed our family and we couldn’t love him anymore! Keep aiming high, Ryan.

2/12/13 is one of the best days of my life and we are so happy to celebrate you today!! Xoxoxoxo
