Thomas made his first big purchase today!
Thanks to everyone who gave him Christmas money-- he put half of his money in the bank and the other half he wanted to spend. He has been saving up for a fiberglass surfboard.
So, we went to Beach House Surfboard Shop in Bayhead and Thomas talked directly with the owner himself and the owner, Eric, guided Thomas into buying a used Rusty Fiberglass Surfboard instead of a new board. Original cost for this board would have been $975 but the boy that was selling it to the surf shop was only asking $200. Thomas was initially a little reluctant to purchase it bc it has some "repair markings" on it -- but the owner Eric said the size and weight of this board would be an awesome one for a beginner/ 9 year old surfer.
You can't tell with his mask on but Thomas left a very happy customer and was very bummed I didn't let him go into the ocean to use it as soon as he bought it 🏄♂️
