Anniversary Night in NYC

We had a great time on our overnight trip to New York City. We stayed at the JW Marriot in Central Park.

The weather was on our side.. 39 degrees and no wind made for perfect walking weather.

So after we dropped the boys off at Grandma and Grandpa's.....our celebrations started with a "bar crawl" walking all around Madison Avenue and Central Park.

We had a bellini and smoked salmon platter at The Russian Tea Room; then walked over to Guy Fieri's American Bar for beers and shredded cilantro pork tacos; and finished off our drinking tour at The Blue Fin where we had Prosecco and a Manhattan martini with Lobster and Spicy Tuna rolls-- which also allowed for great people watching ( tons of crazy people in the metro area!).

Our afternoon would not be complete if I didn't shop and find something for the boys.. so we went into a few stores and ended up getting them Frozen figurines at The Disney Store ( where I could have spent hours and tons of money in). I also got myself a Christmas ornament from the Christmas Cottage.

The hotel was beautiful located directly across from Central Park and all the horse and buggy rides ( and most importantly required no toy or kitchen clean up;) ... so we headed back to relax and get all dolled up for dinner.

Getting dressed and curling my hair without 2 little boys was a treat ( although we clearly  started missing them already by having to get them gifts).  Our romantic dinner and  delicious wine was spectacular (and ridiculously overpriced) at IL Mulino! How doss anyone actually live and dine in New York City?!

All and all, it was a great getaway and relaxing time to spend just the two of us. Even if the majority of our conversation revolved talking about the boys :)

We defintiely hope to take more advantage of NYC being only 1/2 hour away-- whether it be as a date night or family outing on the train to Central Park.

It was a fantastic 5 year celebration and we can't wait to see what the next 5 years have in store for us!

Some pictures from our night...( I took so many pics you would have thought we were tourist from another country ;)
